If you're reading this, chances are:
A) You've been tagged by either Kaci or I to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
or
B) You want to see us dump a bucket of frigid water on our heads
If you're here for reason A, great! Kaci and I have something a little different in store for you. If you're here for reason B, you may or may not be disappointed depending on whether or not you've seen enough ice bucket videos to last a lifetime. Kaci and I aren't going to post a video. Here's what we are going to do.
The official rules of the Ice Bucket Challenge state that you can either pour a bucket of ice cold water on your head, or you can choose to donate to an ALS charity of your choice. Since there are already so many videos, Kaci and I feel lead to donate instead. However, we know raising awareness is also important.
Rather than record yet another video, we'd like to tell you more about what ALS is. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, is a neurological disorder that affects the motor neurons responsible for relaying signals to your muscles from the brain and spinal chord. ALS causes these neurons to degenerate, resulting in the gradual loss of control of the muscles. This can lead to paralysis and even death.

Now, for those of you who we have challenged, the same rules apply. The choice is yours as to whether or not you want to do the video, but if you'd rather not, we encourage you to consider donating and spread the word as to what ALS actually is. There is a link below leading to the ALS association's donation form. Challenge five of your friends to do the same, tagging them in a Facebook post and using the hashtags #icebucketchallenge, #alsicebucketchallenge, and #strikeoutals.

Thanks guys!
